North Rim Race Info

Sunday, September 28, 2025

The Arizona Trail North Rim Ramble Marathon, Half-Marathon and 7-Mile presented by Summit Hut are trail running courses that follow the Arizona National Scenic Trail and North Kaibab National Forest Service roads. We are proud to be able to host this event on the ancestral lands of the Nuwuvi (Southern Paiute), Hopi, Zuni and Diné (Navajo).

All events will start and finish on FR611 just east of State Route 67. The half-marathon will make a counter-clockwise loop; marathoners run two loops. The 7-mile follows an out-and-back route through Tater Canyon.

RUN CUPLESS!

This event is “cupless” to minimize waste, so runners are encouraged to bring their own bottle, cup or hydration pack to fill up on Skratch Labs or water at aid stations. You can also purchase a collapsible HydraPak SpeedCup for only $3, which feature the Arizona Trail Association logo and can be used at all of your upcoming running events.

Directions to event parking on FR 611

Find your way to the junction of Hwy 89A and Hwy 67 at the tiny town of Jacob Lake, Arizona. Food and lodging is available here, and there are ample camping opportunities nearby. Head south on Hwy 67 for 25 miles toward Grand Canyon National Park. Look for the North Rim Country Store on the east side of the road. Just south of the North Rim Country Store, turn left (east) on FR 611 toward East Rim View. The road soon turns to dirt. Continue for ¼-mile and park along the right (west) side of FR611 near the junction of FR216. There will be signs for parking. The start/finish line is just east of FR611.

There is a 7-hour time limit for the marathon. Marathoners must finish their first half-marathon loop in 3 1/2 hours in order to continue. Marathoners that do not make the 10:30 a.m. cut-off will be given credit for a half-marathon finish. There are no time limits for the half-marathon or 7-mile events.
