Due to the Mangum Fire on the Kaibab National Forest and COVID-19 concerns we have decided to cancel the North Rim Ramble for 2020.

Please mark your calendar for August 28-29, 2021 when the North Rim Ramble returns!

This one-of-a-kind event includes some of the Arizona Trail’s most pleasant trail and well-graded Forest Service roads on the North Kaibab Ranger District. The 13.1-mile loop traverses an enchanting area of northern Arizona, passing through an idyllic forest of spruce, pine, and aspen; past shallow ponds, springs; and in and out of limestone canyons. For about a mile, the course dodges among stately trees along the East Rim of the Grand Canyon, offering breathtaking views of Marble Canyon, the Vermilion Cliffs, Saddle Mountain Wilderness, House Rock Valley, and Navajo Mountain. Marathon runners head out for a second loop to complete the 26.2 miles. Average elevation is 8,850 feet.

The long 10K follows scenic doubletrack through the floor of Tater Canyon, sharing the final miles of the half-marathon course. It’s more like 7 miles, with a hard start and a hard finish…so don’t let “10K” make you think this is a walk in the park.

Sure, it’s in the middle of nowhere, but this is one of the most scenic events anywhere! Bring the family and stay for the weekend. North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Rainbow Rim Trail and Coyote Buttes are all located nearby.

Marathon and Half-Marathon start at 8 a.m. (Arizona time)

7-Mile starts at 8:15 a.m. (Arizona time)

Most cellular telephones will pick up tower signals from nearby Utah, which will throw the time off by one hour. Know what time it is so you don’t miss your start!
