Colossal Vail 50/50 T-Shirt Unveiled

Thanks to the talented designers at Cirrus Visual Communications, we are excited to share the 2019 T-shirt for the Colossal Vail 50/50 presented by Fleet Feet Sports – Tucson. The image celebrates the rattlesnake mural that all participants will run through in the 50-Mile, 55K and Half-Marathon distances on November 9. Created by Ed Muren, this mural is the first art project to lively up the cement culverts the AZT utilizes to safely cross under roadways.

Registration is still open for the Colossal Vail 50/50, so sign up soon for this premier trail running event that benefits the Arizona Trail Association.

North Rim Ramble Results

The AZT North Rim Ramble presented by Summit Hut on August 25 was a huge success, with 82 runners finishing this annual event among the spruce and aspens of the Kaibab National Forest. A course record was set in the half-marathon when Mike Popejoy finished in 1:21:50. Laura Haley finished her very first marathon in 4:01:47, capturing the women’s marathon win and finishing third overall. Complete results can be found here. Thanks to all the runners and families who traveled great distances to participate in this trail running event for the benefit of the Arizona Trail Association. We hope you’ll join us next summer as the Ramble tradition continues…

Half-Marathon Added to Colossal Vail 50/50

The Colossal Vail 50/50 presented by Fleet Feet Sports-Tucson isn’t just an ultra anymore! While running 55K or 50 Miles on the Arizona Trail remains at the heart of this event, we added a shorter distance for 2019 — the scenic and adventurous half-marathon features a segment of the Arizona Trail south of Colossal Cave Mountain Park as well as a sandy slog through a portion of Davidson Canyon. Runners will visit the aid station at Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead two times before their return to the finish line at Colossal Cave Mountain Park. The event is limited to only 100 runners. Register here.
